Is it too early for the winter doldrums?

My phone got too cold to function at the barn so no Clover pic. The outdoor ring is officially a skating rink. We had a much better ride in the indoor than on Sunday; Clover was much less spooky so it was easier to warm up and do more school figures (20 meter circles, changes of rein across the diagonal, changes of bend, leg yields up the wall and from wall to center line). Did some work at the trot and asked for better up transitions. My hands stayed warm thanks to my new Mountain Horse gloves. They're on the bulky side, but I got used to them and I think the decrease in hand/finger sensation led to softer arms and better contact with Clover.
