Lesson with Verne

Verne has the patience of a saint. I was his last lesson on a very hot and humid day. Mico was on the muscle and I was not at my best. Still, we struggled through the whinnying and the posturing and had some nice moments at the trot.

Verne said that the walk and canter are related; when the walk is good, the canter can be good, too. I need to work on my aiding and reaction time, I still struggle with holding too long--and use rein aids too much. Seat and leg first!

I'm glad Mico was having one of his days, Verne was able to see him acting up a bit and give me some advice as to how to manage it and keep myself together while getting Mico's attention. It's going to take time, and practice. That's all.
