Keane’s birth announcement
[email] Danny and Mac have done it again! Danny went into labor early Saturday evening, and had a strapping, remarkable copper colt at 8:20pm. He is BIG, and gorgeous. Not a white hair to be seen! lolol!!! Smart, feisty, inquisitive and friendly... 3/4 brother to Irish and can't you just tell!!!
Here's a link to pictures starting with the third pic. (First two on the page are Kat's filly with Mac just recently--she's two now, will be three in the spring and is for sale) Birth pics first, then day 1 pics following.
He's really great so far. A little down in the pasterns--not unusual in such
a big foal--and not a worry. He's already come up really well. They haven't been out yet, but probably tomorrow. The frozen ground worried me with the pasterns. Since the barn gets plenty of real sunshine all afternoon, it's not a big deal for them to be in an extra day or so. He had a bit of a puffy right eye too--just birth trauma--he had his *knee* right there and got a little stuck. The eye itself is fine, but that's why he looks a little like Popeye in some of the pictures. Today I couldn't even notice. (should've taken newer pics, 'eh? lol!)
He's got that shoulder that goes on for days just like his Momma... Beautiful big, clean joints, and straight legs--HUGE feet already! I think the biggest hooves of any foal I've seen!
For sale, of course... feel free to forward to anyone you know who
might be interested.
