Hallowe’en hack

Mild, overcast day—good enough for t-shirt weather. Went back out to find the trails beyond the lake. Much easier with the ice gone, but still some dicey footing to get to the trails. Tony got his first taste of real, honest-to-god bushwhacking, and he took his first jump, a branch suspended about 2' off the ground. Not only that, he got to sit his first bucks and crow hops—Clover must have been feeling fiesty. That man has some good balance for a new rider!

Didn't get to explore the trails as thoroughly as we wanted, with daylight savings we lost the evening light and needed to get back to work on the fencing of the second paddock for Clover and her future foal. The trails we did get to were well cut and had decent footing. We galloped a good deal of the way back to the trail to get back on to the road, and found a cleaner way out for future reference.
