Ride at the rings

Lunged Clover before riding—she was a little short strided in the left hind, and somewhat reluctant to stretch out over her back, so she is most definitely in heat (plus she's really friendly with both boys now). Got on and only did walk/trot work, concentrated on riding quiet and in good form; those pics from last week really jolted me. Function followed form: although she was unsteady in the bridle, the work was better.

Got on Mico again, had a great a-ha moment. Figured out how to drop my center of gravity into my seat, and use it to regulate the horse's rhythm. And also how to tell when I tense up and the center of gravity rises up to my midriff. Mico, even though he's medium pony height, is technically a horse. But because he's smaller, it's harder to slow his rhythm down and regulate the tempo. Think: speedy pony trot. It was great to feel the influence the seat is supposed to have when it's used correctly.
