Trip to the sandpit

Another trip to the sandpit. Did walk/trot work en route to the bridge, Clover was energetic and ready to go--nice to feel energy in her motor as opposed to the usual energy-conservation way of going. She's getting fitter! No easy feat for a draft cross. I get a good feeling from doing my homework, especially when the results show, and are positive.

Picked up a strong canter to the sandpit, gave Clover a walk break around the pit, and cantered back to the bridge. During each canter set, I did a simple change of lead, trying to keep balance with the terrain and track. Clover started to get humpy-backed cantering on the right lead--bearing in mind the crankiness/discomfort(?) of recent canter/transition work on the right lead. Something for Laurie to look at, for certain.

Otherwise, the canter was nicely forward, she'd hardly turned a hair, and has good recovery ... time to start doing the loop at a road trot.
